You Are an Easter Egg |
You're so sweet, you don't need candy. You much prefer the taste of artificial coloring instead. |

Starting Our Garden
I think it's high time that I update this thing!
So, 2009, here we are! Our family is doing well. Ross is well established in his new job at Walmart. I'm back at home full-time with Ian. Aidan is LOVING her "school."
In our hopes to go more green and healthy this year, we've decided to have a fairly extensive garden. I've been doing some extensive reading on Square Foot Gardening, and I have decided that that is our best options, especially since we're renting. It was such a beautiful day today that we went to Lowes to start gathering supplies. We bought seeds, some peat pots to start some seedlings now, soil, and we priced some other supplies that we will need soon. Our hope is that the investment we're making now will save us money in the long run this year.
When we got home, Aidan and I got organized, and then we got started on planting our seedlings. Aidan had so much fun! Today, we planted our strawberries, spinach, broccoli, watermelon, and some zinnias.

They are in peat pots for now, and when the weather and garden are ready, then the pots can be planted directly into the garden. Aidan had a blast getting her hands in the dirt, which was a plus, sensory-wise.

The Kind of Shopper Amanda is...
This should tell me the kind of shopper I am...
You Are a Discount Shopper |
You love to get things as cheaply as possible. You live for sales. It's partially because you like to save money, but it's also because you like the thrill of finding a fabulous deal. Of all the types, you tend to shop frequently but rarely by. You keep an eye on prices. Brand names are not that important to you. You know how to have style without collecting designer tags. |

Coloring
Aidan loves to color! She just loves to sit down with some crayons and some paper and get to it. I apparently have paid too much attention to the names of her crayons because I took this quiz at Crayola.com, and I am apparently a color genius! I can name all but 16 crayons out of a box of 64. LOL.
On another note, the kids and I have been sick recently. The kids were last week, and it's my turn right now. I've spent most of the day in bed with fever and an achy body. We found out on Wednesday that Aidan has dropped off the charts again, which means that she's stopped gaining weight again. So, the tube stays.
On a happier note, at the beginning of August the kids and I went to Ohio for my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary. It was nice to be able to see family and introduce Ian to them. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the trip:
Just for fun, here is what Ian looked like after his first tastes of fresh avacado:
And this is what happens when you let a 2 year old dress herself; she puts on 8 pairs of panties!
Well, I guess that's it for now. I need to get back in bed, while Ross finishes watching the UT game.

My Recent Favorite Scrap Page
FYI, Blogger doesn't like my LOs, apparently. So, they look like crap here. They aren't this squished in actuality.
I scrap a lot. I'll be honest. I may be a tad obsessed. Oh well. It relaxes me right before bed. Anyway, here is my favorite most recent page (or two)....
(ps all the credits can be found here)

And one more for good measure:

As you can see, I've got a great outlet that's super useful for documenting my family's daily life. :)

Our New Blog!
Hi family and friends!
Ross and I were talking about it, and we felt that this was a great way to keep you all up to date about what is going on with us and the kids. We are doing well, but have been kept busy recently. Both of us have been working almost around the clock, it seems. The kids are great! Ian is growing like a weed, and Aidan is the healthiest that she's ever been.
Recently, we were informed that the daycare that the kids attend was closing, and we've been scrambling to find a suitable replacement. In this process, we've had some people really offend us by discriminating against Aidan based on her feeding tube. Infact, I've never been more offended in my life until someone told me that it was inappropriate for other children to be around one with a feeding tube. That comment made me completely ill. Luckily, we've found someone who thinks that they will be able to handle Aidan's care, which is really minimal for daycare at this point.
Well, that's what's been going on with us. Hopefully, I will not let this fall to the wayside and will remember to update this. Feel free to drop me a line to remind me if I slack. :)
